Hyperhidrosis treatment

Possible treatment solutions for hyperhidrosis

Antiperspirants
Antiperspirants temporarily block the formation of sweat in some people by blocking the ducts of the sweat glands. Antiperspirants contain substances called aluminum chloride (12% and 20% concentration). Need to be used every day.
Ionophoresis
During iontophoresis, low-voltage pulses are transmitted through the skin. The procedure is performed 3-4 times a week.
Surgical treatment
Surgical treatment is a last resort for people who are not helped by any other treatment and whose quality of life is severely compromised. All that can be done during surgery is to cut through the chest nerve that promotes profuse sweating, perform liposuction, or have surgery on the sweat glands in the armpits.

Hyperhidrosis treatment with botulinum toxin injections

There are various treatments for sweating. The choice of treatment depends on the severity and localization of the hyperhidrosis, as well as the impact it will have on life. One treatment for sweating is botulinum toxin injections. It is a simple, effective and modern way used to stop sweating.

What is botulinum toxin and how does it work?

Botulinum toxin is a protein found naturally in certain types of bacteria. It is very clean. Small amounts of it are injected under the skin in the affected areas. Injections in locally underarm hyperhidrosis have been shown to significantly improve the condition.

How long does botulinum toxin start to work after the injection?

The maximum effect can be expected 2 weeks after the injection.

How long does botulinum toxin last?

In all cases, the effect is temporary. The effect usually lasts up to 1 year. The effect of the injections is gradually diminishing, so a repeat injection program is needed. It is very important that re-treatment is not more frequent than recommended by the manufacturer.

What are the possible side effects of botulinum toxin?

Adverse reactions that may occur in people with axillary hyperhidrosis: compensatory sweating (sweating that occurs in areas of the skin further away from the injection site).

Is sweating normal? How do you know if you are sweating too much? What to do?

What to do if your palms get wet at the bad time? The underarms of clothes stain with sweat stains? What if there is an unpleasant odor?
