Buttock Enhancement
Buttock enhancement is usually chosen by mature and younger women desiring rounder and larger buttocks. The procedure is often sought by patients who want to enhance their naturally flat buttocks or those who quickly lost significant weight and have sagging skin in the buttock area.
A more pleasing buttock contour can be achieved in several ways, namely, by using butt lift, butt implants, or buttock augmentation with fat transfer.
Buttock enhancement is the right procedure for you if:
- You quickly lost significant weight and therefore developed flabby and drooping buttocks;
- You desire rounder and extra-curved buttocks;
- You desire larger buttocks;
- You have no health problems.
What you should know:
- Patients might experience post-operative pain;
- Patients are likely to have post-operative bruising;
- Swelling can be seen and felt for around 6 weeks;
- The final result is seen after 3 to 4 months.
PROCEDURE STEPS
1. Consultation with plastic surgeon
During your consultation with a plastic surgeon, they will inspect your buttocks and assess your physical health, answering all procedure-related questions you might have. The surgeon will then determine the optimal type of procedure for you based on your expectations and general proportions of your body.
2. Preparing for surgery
For best results, it is important that you also take steps to prepare for the surgical procedure. This is why you should consider quitting smoking and consuming alcohol and maintain a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle. It may also be necessary to temporarily stop taking certain medicines.
3. Surgical procedure
The surgery takes 2 to 3 hours.
The procedure is performed under general anaesthesia.
The incisions depend on the exact type of buttock enhancement procedure performed. Those are:
- Buttock augmentation with fat transfer. This procedure enhances buttock size and shape by transferring the fat from other areas of the body, such as the thighs, hips, and abdomen. Once one of these areas with excessive fat is chosen, the surgeon performs liposuction and goes on to transfer the fat tissue to the buttocks. The advanced liposuction and fat transfer system used at our clinic ensures that a high percentage of fat cells survive the transfer, while also maintaining an even contour of the donor site.
- Buttock augmentation with implants. This procedure is chosen when the patient desires to enlarge her buttocks but is very thin and does not have enough fatty tissue for fat transfer. The implant is inserted into the gluteal muscle, enhancing the volume of the upper buttocks.
- Butt lift. This procedure is designed to enhance the shape of the buttocks without adjusting their size. The surgeon creates an incision at the top of the buttocks, along the hip line, the skin is then pulled up to create a more curved shape, and the excess skin and fat are removed.
4. Outcome and recovery
The amount of time it takes for recovery varies from one patient to another and depends on the type of buttock enhancement procedure performed. You might need painkillers once the anaesthesia wears off.
Healing process:
- Patients will need to wear a compression garment for 2 weeks after the surgery.
- Sutures are removed after 7 to 10 days;
- Exercise can be resumed in 1 to 2 months;
- It is recommended to return to work after 2 weeks;
- Saunas and swimming pools should be avoided for 3 to 4 weeks;
- Patients should avoid sitting directly on their buttocks for a minimum of 3 weeks;
- Fully returning to normal daily activity is possible after around 4 weeks;
- The final result is seen after 3 to 4 months.
